8 - Day Itinerary
DAY - 1
Arrival at Rwanda Kigali Kanombe International Airport
Upon arrival at Kanombe International airport you will be received by the company representative who will assist with the bags and transfer you to the booked hotel in Kigali city and you will be briefed about the tour.
DAY - 2
Kigali to Volcanoes national park Ruhengeri
Have breakfast and later transfer to the Volcanoes national park. The drive will take through winding roads and terraced hills of Rwanda on to Ruhengeri and finally the Volcanoes. You will be in time for lunch and later in the afternoon visit the Ellen DeGeneres campus and Ibyiwacu cultural village and later return to the accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY - 3
Volcanoes National Park (Park national des volcans)
Today is the long-awaited day for gorilla trekking! Be up early have breakfast and transfer to the Volcanoes National Park offices for paper work before the general briefing by the park rangers about the Dos, Do nots, the general history of the park and the group allocated for tracking that day by the lead ranger guide. You will enter the jungle in search for the gorillas; the trekking time will depend on the movements and steep slopes of the landscape. Once you meet the gorillas you will spend an hour observing the gorillas in their natural habitat, feeding, grooming, playing and dis playing dominance. After an hour you will return to the starting point where you entered the jungle from and later drive to the accommodation.
DAY - 4
Volcanoes to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Wake up early morning have breakfast and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda via kyanika border post arriving in time for lunch combined with enroute game drive as you drive to lodge. After lunch you will go out for the guided game drive and later return to lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY - 5
Queen Elizabeth National Park
Have breakfast and begin your day with an early morning game drive along the channel track and Kasenyi plains in search for lions, leopard, elephants, buffalos and many anti lope species for 4 hours and return to the lodge for lunch break. Later in the afternoon you will take a boat ride along the Kazinga channel which is natural channel joining two lakes George and Edward. During the boat safari you will be able to see crocodiles, elephants and buffalos taking water and it’s a paradise for birders.
DAY - 6
Queen Elizabeth National Park to Lake Mburo National Park
Have an early breakfast and head out to Queen Elizabeth National Park Kyabura sector famous for the Chimpanzee trekking. Chimpanzee trekking is the activity where by you go to the jungle and look for the chimpanzee in their natural habitat. Upon finding the Chimpanzee, you will spend an hour with them as the feed swing up the tress and groom the young ones. The Chimpanzee are our close relatives since they 98% DNA like human beings. Return to the starting point and drive to Lake Mburo National Park. You have enroute lunch and reaching lake Mburo national park afternoon and combine en route drive to lodge with game drive and later check in the booked hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY - 7
Lake Mburo National Park to Lake Bunyonyi
Wake up early and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park for the walking safari experience in the presence of the armed ranger guide. The walking safari brings you up close to the wildlife as compared to game drives. You will walk close the giraffe, Buffalos, water bucks, impalas, Zebras and many more big and small mammal species. After 2 hours of walking, you will return to the lodge for breakfast, check out and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi reaching in time for lunch and later boat cruise along the lake Bunyonyi and dinner and over night stay at the booked lodge.
DAY - 8
Lake Bunyonyi to Kigali Kanombe International air port
Have breakfast and transfer to Rwanda Kigali Kanombe International airport via the Katuna border post. Depending on the time of your out bound flight you can have a tour of the Kigali Genocide memorial site and visit Kimironko market before finally transferring to the air port for home flight.
