16 - Day Itinerary
DAY - 1
Arrival at Entebbe International airport and transfer to Kampala
You will arrive at Entebbe International Airport. Received and assisted by your bags by the company driver guide. You will be transferred to your hotel in Kampala.Kampala is the capital city of Uganda, with a population of about 4.5 million people, Kampala is the largest urban settlement in Uganda. Kampala was developed around a fort constructed by Federick Lugard in 1890 for the British African Company. DAY - 2
Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino sanctuary.
You will depart after breakfast for Murchison Falls National Park with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking and lunch and later continue to Murchison Falls National Park. You will enter the park through the south gate called Kichumbanyobo. You will visit the top of the falls and cross the river Nile to the northern bank where your hotel is located. DAY - 3
Murchison Falls National Park
After an early morning breakfast, you have a full morning of spectacular game viewing! The best area for game drives is the peninsular between the Victoria and Albert Nile. It is known for its abundant wildlife and has several tracks (Buligi truck, Victoria truck, Queen truck and Albert truck. The Uganda kob is common here, but also the Oribi and the Jackson hartebeest. North to the Nile you have the typical Borassus palm Savanna which hosts its beautiful Rothschild´s giraffes, large herds of buffalo and elephants.The afternoon will be spent on an extensive exploration by the boat on the Nile River, upstream towards the falls. This is where the Nile explodes through a narrow gorge and cascades down to become a placid river. You can admire on the slopes of the Nile River, the big number of hippos, elephants and the Nile crocodiles. DAY - 4
Murchison Falls National Park.
After an early breakfast, you will explore a second time the circuits and focus on the finding lions, and leopards, the delta cruise is also worthy to undertake return to the lodge for lunch. The afternoon can be used to relax at the pool or under take the exploration of the Wankwa area as you head to the gate and Buligi truck. DAY - 5
Murchison Falls National Park to Semliki wildlife reserve.
This will be along drive; you will have early breakfast and leave for Semliki valley. You will travel via the western escarpment of the western Rift valley and lake Albert which is atypical Rift Valley Lake lying at an altitude of 615m between two parallel escarpments Congo and Uganda. You will arrive Fort portal town in time for lunch, there after shopping before continuing to Semliki valley park.
DAY - 6
Semliki valley
The day will begin by having breakfast and later a morning game drive, looking for the Albertine endemics. Then after noon will be spent at leisure next the pool or have another game drive.
DAY - 7
Semliki to Kibale Forest National Park
After an early breakfast you will visit the Semliki national park. The park is an extension of the vast Ituri forest of Congo. You will visit the hot springs of Sempaya. The area around the hot springs is beautiful and offers great birding sites, there are more than 400 species of birds recorded. You will stop in Fort portal town for lunch, before heading to Kibale Forest Park and the lodge is adjacent to the park
DAY - 8
Kibale Forest national park
Kibale Forest National Park renowned for the greatest variety and the highest concentration of primates in Africa and the world. The visitor centre Kanyanchu is 10 minutes’ drive away from form the booked lodge. At the offices the rangers are ready to escort you to the jungle. They will brief you about your nature walk in the tropical rain forest in search of the habituated chimpanzee. Upon sighting the chimpanzee, you will spend an hour observing the chimpanzee in their natural habitat. This one of the great moments of the safari.The rangers are very knowledgeable and will answer all your questions about the forest and chimpanzee. The institute of Jane Good all has been assisting in training of the rangers. The afternoon will be spent at Bigodi for guided nature walk.
DAY - 9
Kibale Forest National Park to Queen Elizabeth national park
After breakfast, you will leave for Queen Elizabeth National Park through the back road with good scenic views of the crater lakes and on a good day, you might have clear view of Rwenzori. You will pass Kasese town and stop at the equator for traditional pictures.You will enter Queen Elizabeth National Park at Kabatoro gate and have a game drive on the way to Mweya peninsular, enjoy you stay at Mweya lodge.
DAY - 10
Queen Elizabeth National Park
The best time for game viewing is early in the morning. You take the channel truck which runs parallel with the Kazinga channel and we drive slowly towards the Katunguru gate. The channel truck is rewarding with warthogs, bushbuck, water buck and elephants. There are some chances in the morning hours to see the spotted hyena and leopard. We will cross the Mbarara -Kasese high way and drive to Kasenyi plains an area near to lake George which is interesting for game viewing area. You will visit the Uganda Kob mating ground which is the a defined area specifically used by Uganda Kobs for challenging and enticing and mating. Adult rams defend a circle territory. Watch the spectacular fights as Kobs defend their territories, look for lions as well because the high concentration of Kobs attract their predators. We continue with the game drive as we return to Mweya for lunch.In the afternoon take a boat safari on the Kazinga channel which many consider as the high light of the safari. The Kazinga channel is a natural channel of 36km long between lake George and lake Edward. The boat safari is the most popular activity at Mweya. While you are on the safari boat, you can see elephants, hippos, Nile crocodiles and many water birds
DAY - 11
Mweya to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park
Be up at leisure and have breakfast, check out and hit the road to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabth National Park. The sector is famous for resident climbing lions. You will start from the southern circuit in search for elephants and we will drive the over the plains of Ishasha in the open savannah. The southern circuit has usually large herds of buffalo, Uganda Kobs and Topis. Near to the swamps you can spot the leopard. We continue and drive to the northern circuit which is the area known for climbing lions. We look particularly at the many Fig trees where lions like to stay. But we also visit the Uganda Kob mating grounds which is their preferred hunting area. After the initial expedition, we return to the camp for lunch relax and then try out in the afternoon.During the dry season we will drive you to the Edwards flats to see elephants, large herds of buffalo and different water birds. Occasionally we might find in this area the shoebill stork and by surprise some hunting lions.
DAY - 12
Ishasha to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
We wake up early to search for the predators and other wild animals before heading out of the park to the hotel for lunch and later head to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The park is not so far away, you will arrive in the afternoon. You will have time to enjoy a cool drink, the sights and sounds of the rain forest.
DAY - 13
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
After breakfast, early departure for the headquarters of the park where your driver guide will accomplish the necessary formalities for you. It will start with a short briefing about what to expect during the trekking, dos and do not.After assigning your gorilla group, the ranger guide will brief you again about the history of the group, the names of the members and you will be driven to the edge of the forest and you will embark on the trek to search for the endangered mountain gorillas. The time taken to locate the gorillas depends on the movement of the gorillas and the steep slopes of the land scape. The thrill of your encounter will erase the difficulties and strenuous trek. You will spend an hour observing the gorillas in their natural habitat, feeding, grooming, and resting as the young ones swing from vines. You will trek back to the drop off point with life time memories. After the trek you will return to the accommodation to relax or visit the cultural group around the park.
DAY - 14
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast you leave for lake Bunyonyi passing through the magnificent hills, of Bwindi. Arrive in time for lunch and later enjoy the walk or boat ride along the lake.
DAY - 15
Lake Bunyonyi to Lake Mburo national park.
Start the day with breakfast and drive to lake Mburo national park passing via Mbarara town arriving in time for lunch and later an evening game drive and return to the accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY - 16
Lake mburo to Entebbe
Be up early and head to the park for guided nature walk in the presence of an armed ranger. During the walk you be up close to wild animals like Zebras, Elands , Buffalos, Giraffes, Topis and many more wild animals both big and small. The walk takes between 1 hour to 2hours and returns to hotel for breakfast, check out and hit the road to Entebbe with a stopover at the equator for traditional pictures and lunch before continuing with the journey to Entebbe. you will have a day room for fresh up before heading to the air port for your home bound flight.
