This 10 days horse riding and gorilla safari takes you to Kenya’s best wildlife watching destination Masai Mara scene of the annual migration from the Serengeti plains, to the Volcanoes National Park to track the mountain gorillas which is the world’s most exciting wildlife encounter.
Masai Mara undoubtedly is the richest game reserve in Kenya in terms of wildlife concentration. At the Mara you will have the best opportunity of spotting the “BIG FIVE” Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Rhino and Elephant. Horse riding safari is a privately escorted safari and is the best way to experience Africa’s bush at its best. Volcanoes National Park is one of the homes to the only remaining mountain gorillas in the world, which are the largest primates in the world. It is a life changing experience and unforgettable. Gorilla tracking makes you sweat than you shiver, takes you through steep slopes and impenetrable forests. It is worthy while life time experience. Tracking the endangered mountain gorillas on the slopes of the Virunga Volcanoes is a magical experience, hike through the mountain forest to experience the gentle creatures or to find the charming Golden monkeys. Also hike to Dian Fossy Tomb trail up to 3000ms on the slopes of mountain Bisoke or hike to the beautiful Ngezi crater lake at the top. Gorilla tracking is a life changing and a unique event.

FULL ITINERARY 8 days 7 nights
DAY - 1
ARRIVAL KIGALI/RUHENGERI
Upon arrival at Kanombe Kigali Rwanda, you will be received by the company representative. Depending on the arrival time, you will do a city tour including a visit to the genocide memorial and later transfer to Ruhengeri, the main base town for Gorilla trekking, overnight Mountain View lodge/Sabinyo lodge.
DAY - 2
VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK
This day calls for an early wake up, have breakfast and transfer to the park offices for briefing and group allocation for the first gorilla trekking experience. Depending on the time you return from trekking the mountain gorillas, after lunch you can visit the twine lakes Bulera and Ruhondo or visit the near by local community Overnight at Mountain View/Sabinyo.
DAY - 3
Ape trekking
You can have a second gorilla trekking or the golden monkey trekking. Upon return you will have luch before transferring to Serena hotel in Kigali for an overnight stay.
DAY - 4
KANOMBE AIRPORT (RWANDA) TO NAIROBI (KENYA)
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Nairobi Kenya. You will be welcomed by the company representative and transferred to Hilton hotel dinner and overnight.
DAY - 5
NAIROBI TO MASAI MARA
After breakfast you will be transferred to Wilson airport (domestic airport) at 10:30 for your flight to Masai Mara, it is beautiful flight passing the fertile kikuyu land and the great rift valley and loita hills and then to Naibosho airstrip. You will be welcomed by the company guide who will transfer you to little governors tented camp.
You will arrive in time for lunch at the lodge check in and relax or go for a ride till late dinner and overnight at Olare Lamun
DAY - 6
MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE
A full day to explore this remote area, starting with an early morning ride before breakfast and followed by a game drive and walk to the top of Oloiburmut. Return to camp for lunch and followed by an afternoon siesta. Then you will have the option for another ride in the evening or visit to the local Masai village before sundowners and dinner under stars overnight at Olare Lamun
DAY - 7
MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE
Second day horse riding around the reserve before following back for breakfast. After break fast you will have a game drive into the park for better photographic opportunities. From the cars you can get closer to the lion, elephants and buffalo than you are able to do from the horse. Overnight Olare Lamun
DAY - 8
Optional morning ride or transfer to Nairobi for your home flight back home or extend your safari for optional activities Like: Nairobi city tour, visit David shedrick, Nairobi park
