Uganda is one of the richest countries in Africa for birds, with over a thousand species being recorded. This diversity results from Uganda’s position on the Equator at the crossroads of the plains of East Africa and the rain forests which dominate much of West Africa. It is a country of varied and beautiful landscapes with forests, natural lakes and the source of the Nile. This tour will take you to premier regions for birds.One for the birding enthusiasts, this excellent itinerary covers a wide variety of habitats and will take you to Uganda's best birding destinations including national parks. Home to over 1000 different species of birds, Uganda holds many delights for bird watchers, who can expect to encounter every thing from Shoebill  and Swamp flycatchers in the wetlands, to African piculets and Yellow- throat ed cuckoos in the grasslands.

FULL ITINERARY 18 days 17 nights

Arrival at Entebbe international Airport, you will be met and welcomed by the company representative, who will transfer you to Entebbe town for overnight stay at hotel No 5

Today we visit Entebbe botanical gardens adjacent to Lake Victoria. The larger trees attract Grey woodpecker, Great blue and Ross’s Turacos. River line trees attract Orange-tufted, Green-throated and Red Chested Sun bird. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel No 5.

Today we will visit Mamba village and it’s adjacent swamp. We enter lake victoria in hand paddled boat, exploring channels and mudflats searching for Shoebill, African Marsh Harrier and later we will transfer to lake Mburo National Park dinner and overnight at Rwakobo lodge or Mihingo lodge

The whole day will be spent exploring the park an area of wetlands and acacia forests. Grassy fields scattered with acacia trees lure Senegal Lapwing, Bare-Faced Go-way-bird and Eastern Grey Plantain-eater and White-Winged Tit. We take a boat trip on Lake Mburo for African Fin foot and White backed Night Heron. In the park also an exploration of the tracks and swamps may produce so many bird species dinner and overnight at Rwakobo lodge or Mihingo lodge

We drive to Buhoma-Bwindi Impenerable National Park which is a huge montane forest, we will bird the camp in the afternoon dinner and overnight at Buhoma  Community lodge or Haven lodge

Bwindi forest is exceptionally rich in forest species restricted to Albertine rift covering the Uganda, Rwanda and Cong. Walking along the forest trail is a wonderful natural experience. We enter the forest with huge trees a reliable area for White-tailed and Red-throated Ale the, Black-faced Rufuos Warbler and Yellow-eyed Fly Catcher. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community lodge or Haven lodge

After breakfast, we will transfer to Ruhija which is at an of 2300m. The Neck is an important habitat for birds and we may see Grey-headed and Little green sunbirds and Dusky blue fly catcher, dinner and overnight at Bakiga lodge or Ruhija gorilla lodge

Ruhija has many important birding areas. During our stay we intend to explore several trails and habitats. Along the main track we may find Handsome Francolin, Mountain Greenbul and the scarce Grauer’s Warbler dinner and overnight at Bakiga lodge or Ruhija gorilla lodge

You will transfer to Queen Elizabeth national Park birding en route the southern sector of the park. At Ishasha, a remote camp ground we look for Black cuckoo-shrike, Yellow bill and African Firefinch dinner and overnight at Mweya hostel or Mweya safari lodge

After an early breakfast, we will take a morning game drive to wards Kasenyi track, along the road we will find Scarly francolin, crowned lapwing and Common Button-quail. In the afternoon, we embark on the a boat trip down the Kazinga channel. This is an incredible are for water birds, giving us up close views of Saddle-billed stork, African spoonbill and African Skimmer dinner and overnight at Mweya hostel or Mweya safari lodge


The trail running through the humid forests are productive for white-billied kingfisher , forest Robin and Semliki also has habitats attracting another wide range of birds.Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the moon hotel

After breakfast, we will continue with birding Semliki/Bundibugyo area and later in the afternoon transfer to Kibale national park dinner and overnight at Chimpanzee guest house or Turraco tree top 

After an early breakfast, you will head to Kibale forest for birding. The large broke of rain forest offers excellent birding experience, harbouring over 400 species of birds, includingPied Hornbill, Narina Trogon, yellow-billed Barbets and Joyful Greenbul. Later in the afternoon we bird the Magombe swamp dinner and overnight at Chimpanzee guest house or Turraco tree top.

After breakfast, you will leave for masindi birding en-route and the villages offers Speckle-breasted Woodpecker,Lesser Honey guide and many more species dinner and overnight at Kabalega resort.

This day calls for an early wake up to arrive early at Budongo forest and the Royal mile a pristine forest reserve. Our main interst is locating forest birds like Chocholate backed and Dawf-king fishers, Brown –eared and yellow crested wood peckers dinner and overnight at Kabalega resort.


Travel to Murchison Falls National Park drop down the valley with views of lake Albert and Congo The habitat changes and we may locate brown snake eagle, Foxy cisticola, Red Winged Grey Wabler and Brown throated Wattle-eye dinner and overnight at Pakuba safari lodge.

Today we go for an early game drive along the tracks and we will see Black bellied bustard, Flappet lark, Red necked flacons and later in the afternoon we will cruise along the Nile and we will see ;Goliath heron, long –toed lapwing and Blue breasted seed eater dinner and overnight at Pakuba safari lodge.

We travel to Kampala and onto Entebbe for home flight.
